Off for a few days . . .

by Terry Thornton

No new articles will be posted at Hill Country for the next several days --- I hope to be back by Friday, May 30, 2008.

Meanwhile I invite you to browse the archives of past articles --- the search feature in the upper left side-bar is an excellent tool to use. Some of my favorite subjects include haints on the road to Parham, singing schools, pottery, grave markers, grist mills, corn bread, and Cotton Gin Port. Of course some of my favorite folks to search for include Frederick Weaver, Gideon Lincecum, Garfus Thornton, Letha Hollingsworth Thornton, and the Murff Family. Places you might enjoy reading about Weaver's Creek, Hatley, and Smithville --- and the photographs of bridges have been of interest to many --- Weaver's Creek Bridge, Ironwood Bluff Bridge, bridges near Peppertown, etc. And many individuals have enjoyed reading the several articles at Hill Country which mention or discuss Elvis Presley. The search bar will find them all.

Enjoy.

LORI, RANDALL, and JANICE, Thanks. But fun is not the aim of this break --- a family crisis (or maybe I need the plural crises as there is certainly more than one) needs attending. Things are, however, looking better and perhaps will ease in a few days.
